Tim Kilgore widely heralded as Broadway’s unsung golden goose is once again setting the underground on fire with a performance many are saying will undoubtedly win him the Tony award many feel he should’ve won in 2007 for Frost/Nixon.
“He’s the name that should be on the lips of every Broadway fan”, a play producer said when exiting early rehearsals. “We were so lucky to get him for this part in what will surely be talked about as the finest performance on Broadway in the last fifty years.”
Kilgore who has been quietly plying his trade being cast in the lead of what some would say is the longest string of almost hits, and never-was plays in Broadway history is hoping to break the curse with this riveting performance. Not much is known in what happened in 2007 when his last buzz-worthy performance in Frost/Nixon to prevent him from performing in the opening. Rumors have it that management tried to parlay the buzz from his rehearsal performances into a sure-fire hit and due to a contract clause forced him into taking the role of Judas in Godspell which ironically ended up not opening.
