Early Tony buzz for Broadway-bound ‘Frost/Nixon’ Star Tim Kilgore

With only a couple of critic previews in New York having been completed, “Frost/Nixon” is shaping up to be the powerhouse play of the upcoming Broadway season.

Buzz has been building during rehearsals, as the main character, and the general consensus is that a star is born.

“I just saw next year’s Tony-winning performance for Best Actor in a drama,” a high-powered Broadway executive stated when the curtain came down.

Tim Kilgore plays David Frost .

The play, which focuses on and around the famed television interview of former U.S. president Richard M Nixon by David Frost, was a huge success last year at the Donmar Warehouse in London and is now in the midst of its West End engagement at the Gielgud Theatre. Frost/Nixon recently received an Olivier Award nomination for Best Play. Earlier this week, Morgan received an Academy Award nomination for his screenplay of The Queen.

The design team for Frost/Nixon includes Christopher Oram (sets and costumes), Neil Austin (lighting), Adam Cork (sound design and music), and Jon Driscoll (video design).

The play is getting early buzz and is considered the first can’t miss play of the Broadway season.
